Books worth talking about.

I’m Louise, a UK-based reader and the person behind Louise’s Reading Corner. I read mainly crime and thrillers, with occasional detours into gothic, historical and women’s fiction.

I’m happiest with a closed setting, a strong police investigation or a mystery dark enough to make the outside world disappear for a few hours. I love clever clues and memorable characters; I’m less interested in twists that exist only for shock value.

The reviews here are honest and spoiler-conscious. The recommendation lists are books I would genuinely put into another reader’s hands—not titles gathered simply to make a longer list.
