When a teenage girl disappears from an Adirondack summer camp in 1975, the search is complicated by her identity: she is the daughter of the wealthy family who own the camp. Years earlier, her young brother vanished from the same estate and was never found. Moving between timelines and viewpoints, the novel gradually connects two disappearances with the histories of the family, the camp staff and the surrounding community.

Two sisters are meant to travel together to a remote Fijian resort, but only one boards the flight—and the plane never reaches its destination. Two years later, the sister left behind travels to the island after receiving a clue that suggests the official story may be incomplete. The dual timeline combines a survival mystery with the complicated bond between sisters and the secrets they kept from each other.

A glamorous wedding brings a carefully selected group of guests to a wild, isolated island off the Irish coast. Old resentments, professional rivalries and private betrayals soon push through the polished celebrations—and then someone is found dead. The inhospitable setting and changing viewpoints create a closed circle in which nearly everyone has both a secret and a reason to want revenge.
